Oops. Didn’t post anything last week cause was busy with CNY prep.

Anyway, Apple released the Apple Vision Pro recently. It cost US$3,499 and is only available in the US for now. World Wide availability will be announced at a later date. Or maybe it will be like the first iPhone where it is only launched in US.

Besides the price, the Apple Vision Pro has many flaws. It is not a perfect device just like every first generation device in the category. Do you remember the first gen iPhone, iPad and even iPods? It takes a few iterations for them to perfect the device. But it sure looks promising.

Google is collaborating with the Singapore Tourism Board (STB) to develop an AR guided tour. The AR guided tour is powered by Google’s ARCore and Geospatial Creator and can be accessible in the Visit Singapore Travel Guide app. Singapore’s tourism mascot, Merli, will guide travellers through six stops in the Civic District and Chinatown precincts.

The Kiap Kiap by The Kiap Family is a simple tool that lets you share handwritten information easily during virtual meetings. It does that by clipping a mirror over your laptop (or tablet) camera so that you can easily share things that are on the table.

This Kiap Kiap is designed by a group of students from the Singapore University of Technology and Design (SUTD). Get yours now from their website.

Tom Scott, one of my favourite YouTuber, recently announced that he will stop making weekly videos.

I’ve been thinking about what to do with my blog recently. I know I haven’t been updating it much. I didn’t even post my end of the year blog post on 31 December. I tried to blog a bit more towards the end of 2023 but I just didn’t have the momentum. And watching Tom say goodbye gave me the inspiration to start a weekly blog. Yes, I see the irony here. He is stopping his weekly YouTube and here I am starting my own weekly blog.

If everything goes as planned, I will be posting something here every Friday afternoon. Don’t expect a long blog post. It’s going to be just some short random stuff that I feel like sharing. I don’t know how long I’ll keep this going but I hope I can be consistent for at least a year. (Although a part of me feel that I’ll most likely give up within 3 months. We shall see about that.)
